Army Captain Arrested After Investigations Revealed He Had 191 Phone Chats With Wanted Kidnapper

The Nigerian Army Captain who ordered for the killing of three Police officers has been arrested.

Reports say the Police officers and one civilian were transporting notorious kidnapper, Hamisu Balla alias Wadume, when they were stopped and attacked at a security check-point along the Ibi-Jalingo expressway in Taraba State.

The suspect kidnapper was freed by some soldiers who were allegedly compromised.

Investigations have so far revealed a telephone conversation between the kidnap kingpin, Hamisu Balla alias Wadume, and the captain about 191 between July 9 and August 6.

It is believed that the army captain, who is currently undergoing interrogation at the Defense Headquarters in Abuja, has been proving cover for the kidnapper.

The kidnapper is said to have received millions as ransom from his victims. This comes only a few days after the kidnapping and subsequent release of DPO Mr. Okoro after allegedly paying for his ransom.

This revelation confirms the suspicion of Nigerians that some security operatives work with the kidnappers. It is very shocking that security officers connive with kidnappers to exploit victims of huge sums of money as ransom.
