BIG SHAME: Nigeria Police Could Not Rescue Kidnapped Colleague- Had To Pay Ransom For His Release
The Divisional Police Officer at Delta State command, who was allegedly kidnapped on Friday has regained his freedom. But sources say the DPO was freed by his kidnappers after paying a ransom of N3 million.

Meanwhile, Nigerians are losing confidence in the police as reports suggest that they could not rescue their kidnapped colleague but rather paid a ransom for his freedom.
The Divisional Police Officer at Delta State command, who was allegedly kidnapped on Friday has regained his freedom.

Sources say the DPO was freed by his kidnappers after they were paid a ransom of N3 million.
He reportedly regained his freedom on Sunday after the negotiated ransom was dropped at a designated location for the abductors to pick.
The victim, whose name was given as Mr. Okoro is in charge of Galilee Police Station.
However, the Commissioner of Police Delta State, Mr. Adeyinka Adeleke, has denied the incident and the subsequent payment of ransom.

He said it was the DPO’s friend, who was kidnapped and not the DPO himself.
He added that he had been in touch with the DPO and that the police do not support payment of ransom for kidnapped victims.
