Ghanaian Musician Calls For The Upgrade Of Information Consumed By Ghanaians From The Media

 Popular Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame who is revered among most young people in Ghana for his exemplary lifestyle shared his distaste for media sensationalism and shared concerns about information trickle down in the country as part of his founders’ day message for the youth.

In a statement which was shared on his Facebook and twitter pages he called on government and the Ministry of Information to upgrade information tapped from the department into the mainstream media.


He said the usual news about finger pointing between political parties in the country was hindering the speed of national development and he expressed worry about how such news are on the increase.

He mentioned some key sources Ghana’s media houses could focus on that could bring hope to Ghanaians.

“I believe it is time to hear from the neurologist, psychologist, artist, industry, CEOs, engineers, successful traders, producers, bankers etc… We need to balance off the sensationalism with pragmatism so that we can begin to have real conversations like when is Ghana solving the problem of cancer? Who is writing the codes for the next space exploration, when is entrepreneurship going to meet technology made by Ghanaians”, he urged.

Okyeame Kwame is one of the few musicians who has been able to maintain his reputation from being muddied by the many murky waters of controversies surrounding most musicians in the entertainment industry.

For this reason, he is admired and revered by both young and old alike and he did not cease to impress us again with these nuggets of wisdom for those in government.

We hope the message gets to Mr. Oppong Nkrumah the current Minister for Information.
