64-Year-Old Moslem Religious Leader Urges Men To Help Their Wives With House Chores.

Mba Osman Bawa, a religious leader and shared responsibilities advocate with Action aid Ghana has inspired hope with a picture of him stirring TZ in a pot at home which was shared on the Action Aid Facebook page.

The 64-year-old married father of two lives in the Dangbe community in the Nanumba North District.


He told Action Aid “I have been in darkness for the past twenty years. Ever since I and my wife got married, I use not to support her in household chores. But things have changed now.

“I now cook, fetch water and fuelwood even when my wife is in the house. This has helped with her getting time to do her business. She also gets enough rest and we have peace in the house” he added.

The Imam has since then taken it upon himself to teach other young men the necessity of helping their wives at home during his sermons at the mosque.

Osman Bawa is a religious leader and an advocate of shared responsibilities in the performance of care work, an initiative spearheaded by action aid Ghana.
