Fort a song barely a week old, Power Power is doing very well having amassed close to 200k views already making it to number 1 trending on twitter. One of the reasons behind the song’s success is the support from the musicians’ husbands who are also celebrities in Kenya. Despite the video being a bit over the top and filled with what some might call ‘secular energy’, the message of the song is to hype that the Lord is all powerful.

It is no longer surprising to hear of secular musicians going into the gospel industry. What started as a decision with one secular artist became a trend for the rest and one is left wondering; Is the power of the holy spirit responsible for it or is it the notion that the Kenyan gospel music industry is way more lucrative than the secular music industry today?
