Before claiming her rightful place in the fitness Industry, Everlyn Okinyi had a career in banking. Her passion for fitness however took over and is now propelling her to greater heights in her fitness career especially following this current victory. Her previous successes which are also impressive include the title of Ms. Kenya 2016 and the Runners up position of the same award in 2017.

In a sport that has been popular with men for many years, Everlyn broke the wheel and trained among these men and with them as well, showing women in the country and beyond that bodybuilding is for everyone. In her winning speech, she thanked all those who helped her on her journey including her husband, coaches, sponsors and the Kenya Bodybuilding Federation.

With many other Kenyans especially the youth showing interest in the competitive fitness industry, the country should anticipate more victories such as in Angola especially if the government puts more effort and resources in sponsoring these athletes.
