Multiple Award winning broadcaster, TV and Radio Presenter, Rev. Mrs. J. A. Afriyie Asiedu popularly known as Maame Gold has admonished women to tolerate their cheating husbands.

The presenter who is known in media circles as Maame Yeboah or Maame Gold was of the view that women are leaving their husbands because of recent brainwashing from fake divorcees on social media.

She alleged that such women who had failed in their marriages were already regretting and wish they had not left in the first place.

Maame Gold who recently got ordained as a Reverend Minister of her church, has since been giving “wise counsel” to married women.

In the video the Rev stated that excuses made by women like “the man is not good enough, he is cheating, I don’t love him anymore, he is not treating me well…” were petty excuses and women should avoid them.

She suggested that women who left their husbands for other women to take over, should consider themselves failures and do not have any right to advice others. Hence she advice married women to shun such women like a plague.

However, some of her followers did not agree with her views and fired back; “if someone keeps on cheating on you, he doesn’t respect you and the relationship you have. In fact your union and maybe kids mean nothing for him. There is no point in staying in a relationship just to tell people that you are married. They just make you lose confidence and feel insecure. Not to talk about how he will keep on disrespecting you knowing you ain’t got anywhere to go.” @sheisJoe wrote.

@nanaamma1611 also rebutted “I also disagree with her to some extent. Indeed, you cannot just walk out of a relationship (most importantly marriage) because of trivial issues. However, if there is persistent cheating from one partner then it is better to move on with your life. It is candid in the Bible that the only circumstance under which we can divorce is adultery. Society puts too much burden especially on women for the survival and thriving of marriage. Most women are enduring dysfunctional relationships because they are afraid to be alone or they afraid to be ridiculed by society. My beloved women and men if you’re courting/dating and you observe certain traits like infidelity. It better to let go off that relationship. Marriage is beautiful but it is better to be unmarried than to be married to the wrong person”.

Another Instagram user named @ girl_makeba responded “she said do not leave your marriage for anybody? People don’t leave marriages for people! The leave for their peace of mind and sanity! How do you advise people to stay in abusive marriage just for the sake of a title! I wish she would focus more on telling the men to stop cheating and be better husband rather than making it seem ok to cheat.”
