Video: Reggae DJ Kriss Darlin Publicly Kneels Before ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga

Well known reggae DJ Kriss Darlin surprised crowds on Sunday the 25th after kneeling down before ODM party leader Raila Odinga in Kibra. The DJ did this in an attempt to get an endorsement for the vacant Kibra seat from the very influential party leader. Kriss Darlin who is a big name in the Kenyan entertainment  industry made his intentions in politics known very recently.

On Wednesday, August 21, he publicly presented his official application documents to the ODM headquarters. This surprising move made by the entertainer has so far not taken him on a journey he expected. His recent move of kneeling down before Raila Odinga has shown him that showbiz is not the same as politics. From reactions all over social media, it is clear that the fan favorite has lost a great following in the wake of his controversial kneeling incident. On Sunday, DJ Kriss Darlin was among the hopefuls present alongside Raila in Kibra where the party announced dates for its primaries. In order to stand out, the DJ turn politician decided to go down on his knees to ask for the ODM party leader’s endorsement for the Kibra ticket. See video below.

“I have heard that there are many young men in Parliament fighting Baba (Raila), allow me as their fellow youth to go fight them in there as you wait to fight in 2022,” Kriss Darling said.

He went ahead to add other rather dramatic comments such as declaring he was ready to be shot , if it meant Raila would go on to win the 2022 poll. Kriss Darling is set to battle it out alongside 26 other ODM hopefuls for the vacant Kibra seat.
