A popular gospel musician in Rwanda has come out as a gay man.
Albert Nabonibo, aged 35, announced his sexual preference during an interview with a Christian YouTube channel.
The musician admitted it will affect his brand but it was time Africans accept that being gay is a normal.
Rwanda, like most African countries, does not permit gay marriages. It is culturally and religiously regarded as a sin.
Coming out as gay is a like signing one’s death sentence.
