Several Killed In Southern Moroccan Floods During Football Match
Six people were killed in southern Morocco following torrential rains. A river nearby broke its banks and flooded the pitch killing the victims. Others were swept away by the heavy rains.
The football pitch is adjacent a river which overflowed its banks thus flooding the pitch. Pictures circulating the internet showed the severity of the situation.
Rescue operations underway to search for survivors. Southern Morocco is very prone to flooding. Every year such unfortunate incidents keep repeating and the government has been blamed for doing close to nothing.
