South African Policemen Arrested for Killing Nigerian Businessman At His Home
Four South Africa police officers who killed a Nigerian businessman during criminal interrogation have been arrested. Paul Abiaziem was shot dead after been taken to his house in Eastern Cape province.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), a body seeking the welfare of Nigerians in overseas announced on their Twitter page the news of the arrest.
They called for the swift trial of the policemen among the other numerous crimes against Nigerians living in South Africa. Nigerians and other African immigrants have suffered xenophobic attacks in the country. South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa has promised to end the unfortunate attacks in a chat with Nigeria’s Muhammadu Buhari. It is expected the issue will be discussed again when President Buhari visits South Africa this October.
