At an event on Wednesday night in Lagos, artist Davido, said that his family is deeply rooted in politics, and in everything he does the Adeleke family comes first.

He recalled a story about his uncle, Demola, and how he won the governorship.
Continuing, Davido claims that the real reason why he left Nigeria for the US was because of politics and the role he played in the last election in Osun State, in which his uncle Demola Adeleke lost.
He stated that he had to watch what he said, and that meant he also had to stay away from politics and Nigeria. Davido declared that there was no money Osun State wants to make in the next 30 to 40 years that his father, Adedeji Adeleke has not already made.
