How Did Ghanaians Get Here? Increase in Tariffs and Taxes By An NPP Government That Promised to Lower Tariffs and Taxes?

The politician may seem like a fool—after all, he will come to the people once again to lie to them for their votes even when he has not honoured the first promises.

But it’s the people who are the fools. The politician is certain that, he will once again successfully fool the masses, and even though he has not obviously delivered, the people will still buy his new lies and vote for him.

It’s incredible how Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP have changed, in less than 3 years, from when they were in opposition and now that they are in power.

Nana Akufo Addo repeatedly told Ghanaians that the then incumbent NDC government was killing entrepreneurs and ordinary Ghanaians with high tariffs and taxes.

The NPP said they had the men and were the better alternative who will reduce tariffs and taxes, and make the lives of Ghanaians better.

Today, the same NPP after securing power has increased tariffs and taxes, in just 3 years without worrying about how the people would consider themselves as having been scammed.

Why?

Because the people are foolish! Even with all these, some of the people will be here defending the government for something it said on its own and has failed woefully to deliver.

Politicians are never the fools but the people.
