Kenyan Artists Receive Copy Right Strikes For Releasing Remix of Ugandan Hit ‘Parte After Parte’
Kenyan artists released a remix to popular Ugandan song Parte After Parte. Now, the remix has been taken down after the video was issued a copyright strike.
Uganda’s Big Tril released a hit song not so long ago dubbed Parte After Parte. Soon after it’s release, a bunch of Kenyan artists released a remix to the song. Now, the remix has been taken down after the video was issued a copyright strike.
According to Big Tril’s management team, the artist had not yet given the right to anyone to reproduce the work. However, Boondocks Gang, Zzero, Rekless and Magix Enga decided to reproduce it anyway; Hence the issuing of copyright strikes.
Copyright infringement is defined as the use of works protected by copyright law without permission for a usage where such permission is required. Therefore despite complaints about the remix being taken down, Big Tril is right to do so.
