Video: Angry Landlady Assaults Male Tenant Who Has Already Paid 2020 Rent

Landlords are generally not the most friendly bunch but others take their tyranny to a whole other level. An altercation between a Kenyan landlady and a male tenant is quickly going viral. It started trending after the landlady attacked the tenant for recording their argument.

According to the video, the tenant claims to have paid rent in advance for January, February and March 2020. Despite this, he still found his house locked by his landlady. During the argument, the tenant demanded a full refund of his money, a total of Sh. 72,000.

The two parties went back and forth while the tenant recorded the altercation. When finally the landlady got tired of being filmed against her will, she attacked the tenant and even threw his phone to the ground.

The main reason behind the confrontation is not clear. We are only certain that the dispute was not because of lack of rent payment. From reactions on social media, popular opinion is that the two disputed over matters of the heart or the bedroom. Could this simply be a case of rejection and retaliation gone overboard?
