‘I Now Pronounce You Wife and Wife’ – Kenyan-Born Sudanese Model Aweng Chuol Marries Long Term Girlfriend

On 12th December, South Sudanese model Aweng Chuol tied the knot with her long term girlfriend Alexis. The wedding took place only weeks after the two announced their engagement.

Aweng shared pictures of the beautiful day on her social media. The wedding was a private affair attended only by a chosen few. “We got married. We had three people in the room with us and four people at the entire ceremony. It was for us…” Aweng wrote on twitter.

Aweng who is only 21 is a New York based model who was born at Kakuma refugee camp in Turkana, Kenya. She is currently a law student when she’s not wowing audiences on the runway.

Aweng took to twitter and wrote “Married my best friend today. I am geeked.” We wish the newly weds a happily ever after. We are yet to see even more gay marriages even in Kenya as the LGBT community grows.
