It is no secret that making money as an artist in Kenya is no easy task especially when everyone wants to rip you off. Well, turns out even the church is guilty of shortchanging gospel artists.

Kenyan gospel artist Bruz Newton took to his social media to expose how he was ripped off by a church. The artist showed an MPESA statement of money sent to him by the church – a total of Ksh. 6100.

The money sent was suppose to cater for the artist’s team and for the transport they used to the venue. In this economy, that amount is a joke for a performance; It is hardly enough to even pay rent in a Nairobi bedsitter.

“I am getting tired of being told to pray, fast and have faith when the destiny connectors are the ones doing this to us. How long shall we suffer, by being told that compromising our gifts is being humble and patient…” Bruz wrote on Instagram. He however did not disclose the name of the church.
