Jon Benjamin ‘Laments’ The Cost Of Ghana Jollof And Kelewele In London

It is not uncommon to see Ghanaians complain about the cost of food in the country especially those foods that peculiar to the local people.

There was once a time when Ghanaians reacted with outrage to the menu of one the luxurious hotel in the capital city, Accra.

It seems that the cost of jollof rice and kelewe in London has got British diplomat and former British Ambassador to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, a bit concerned.

He tweeted the cost of the two Ghanaian delicacies asking if it was value for the money.

He said: “GH Tweeps – I’m just passing London’s Ashanti Lounge restaurant where jollof rice costs £12.50 (94 Cedis) and keleweke costs £6.95 (52 Cedis). Good value???
