“I Was Denied Movie Roles Because Of My Father’s Name” – Yul Edochie
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has lamented his plight at the hands of movie directors and producers during his underground days, revealing that they denied him roles because of his father, veteran actor Pete Edochie.
According to a tweet Yul made, politics is played in every country and even in Nollywood, thus making it a point for movie bigwigs to choose sides when it comes to giving out roles.
Yul Edochie states he was denied movie roles due to the fact that people envied him because of his father’s name but that didn’t stop him from achieving his dream.
The actor’s tweet, “Politics is played in every country and in every industry, not only Nollywood.
Ask people in other fields. In my early days I was dropped many times too because of my father’s name, it made many envious. But I never gave up”.
