Just in: Chicken Attacks and Kills 6 Month Old Baby in Kakamega
Tragedy struck a family in Western Kenya when a broody chicken attacked a six-month-old baby who died in her mother’s arms.
Tragedy struck a family in Western Kenya when a broody chicken attacked a six-month-old baby who died in her mother’s arms in Kakamega on 27th December 2019.
According to the child’s mother, the hen attacked the baby trying to protect her chicks. This was at a farm in Shikokhwe village, Malava, Kakamega County.
When Hagai Bushuru the deceased was attacked by the hen, his mother called for help from neighbors. At the time, the baby had collapsed. Efforts to resuscitate the baby proved futile and he was pronounced dead.

The baby’s mother, Robai Toboko and her family have since gone into mourning during this festive season.
“My baby was in my arms trying to get hold of one of its chicks when the hen attacked him,” Toboko told journalists. She added that after the hen attack her baby, he cried for a while before he fainted.
Despite the attack, there were no physical injuries on the baby’s body. The murderous hen was slaughtered and its chicks were also killed.
