The annual Afropunk festival in South Africa is one of the most popular events featuring fun performances, food and fashion. This year, the fashion was what really stood out, in the most shocking of ways.

Some outfits from Afropunk 2019 Festival

 The much anticipated music festival was held at Constitution Hill Johannesburg on the 30th and 31st of 2019. Scores of men and women showed up dressed in outfits that left very little to the imagination.


The LGBT community was well represented with fashionistas freely showing their style. South Africa is definitely further ahead in accepting the LGBT community than any other country in Africa.

I have definitely not seen men dressed freely like this in my home country, Kenya. If I did, it would definitely be an article on africacelebrities.com and many other news headlines.

Afropunk 2019

The Afropunk festival featured performances from local artists like Sho Madjozi, Goldlink, Nao, Sjava, Busiswa, Kwani Experience. The international acts included Miguel and Solange Knowles who gave performances of a lifetime.
