Ghanaians Mock Nigerians “Door Of Return” As 419

I keep on pondering why there seems to be a rivalry of a sort between these two countries; Ghana and Nigeria. Ghanaians in one attempt or the other always show up to prove better in a discipline than no other country but Nigeria. The two factions has been in this game of a sort for quite some time and it has traveled through politics, sports, athletics, movie, the Ghana-Nigeria jollof, the Ghana meets Nija, music industry and now policies or programs.

The President of the Republic Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo in September, 2018 launched ‘The Year of Return, Ghana 2019’ in Washington, DC, as a major landmark of spiritual and birth-right journey inviting the Global African family, home and abroad, to mark 400 years of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia.

Nigeria in that same attempt has launched the ‘Door of Return’ following Ghana’s hugely success in their version titled the “Year of Return Ghana, 2019 which has seen African Americans and other superstars like Akon, Kofi Kingston, Beyonce, Cardi B and other great personalities from the diaspora visiting the country to explore the country and see at first hand the history of the slave trade. The program which has received huge success is alleged to have been copied by the rivalry country of Ghana, Nigeria.
