A 13 year old student in class 8 was stabbed to death by his fellow classmate on Tuesday the 7th. The attack happened at Randani Primary School, Kisii county.
Sub county police commander Philip Oyugi launched investigations into the unfortunate murder case.
At the moment, folks are not aware of what could have caused the boy to stab his fellow classmate.
Mr. Oyugi said that the two 13-year old students were slashing grass when one of them stabbed his friend on his right thigh with the slasher. The victim bled profusely.
Oyugi mentioned that the deceased was left bleeding alone for a long time which led to his death. Teachers who were busy in a staff meeting were not aware of the incident
The victim’s parents Simon Obare and Miriam Kerubo have already recorded statements with the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
“We are saddened with the loss but all we ask for is justice and speedy investigations by relevant government agencies” spoke Gladys Ondara, aunt to the deceased.
Gladys said that her nephew had showed up for lunch on Monday and later left for school in the afternoon with a panga for slashing.
The school administration has been faulted for delaying in rushing the victim to hospital. The death could have been avoided had there been a fast response to the incident
