Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa is giving away over $ 9 million to 1000 of his twitter followers.

Why you ask? To simply see whether it improves their happiness. To enter into the draw, all people had to do was retweet him.

The online shopping mogul announced the 1 billion Yen giveaway a few days ago. Excited followers quickly retweeted while crossing their fingers to be among the lucky 1000.

Each winner will go home with a million yen each, roughly $9,100. The tycoon called the experiment a ‘serious social trial’ to see the impact that 1 million yen can have on someone’s life.

In a YouTube video explaining the experiment, Yusaku urged that those who win use the money as they like.

They will later on answer regular questionnaires about how they’re using the money.
