I’ve Been Without A Man For 10 Years, Anyone Who Thinks I’m Lesbian Is An Idi0t And F00lish- Paulina Oduro

Currently 60 years of age, Ghanaian highlife musician, actress, talent show judge and stage performer, Paulina Oduro has addressed rumors that has been in the media space for ages that she is a lesbian.

In an interview with popular Ghanaian TV personality, Deloris Frimpong Manso, known in the media as Delay on the ‘Delay Show’, ‘Auntie Paulina’ addressed the issue head on.

Delay asked her that: “So it’s been 10 years you’ve never been with any man”. And her response was: “Yes, I’ve been on my own. And [I need a man] for what?”

Putting emphasis on her question Delay further asked that: “[So you mean] no boyfriend, no flame, no sex- for 8 years. How have you been coping?”

In response to this, Auntie Paulina made reference to her age and intimated that she doesn’t really have sexual pleasures at such an age. In her reply to Delay’s question, she retorted: “Ah how old am I?”

Inferring from her response, Delay suggested to her that: “You see yourself as older person. You don’t need a man for romance”– to which Auntie Paulina concurred.

Having had those earlier replies, Delay didn’t beat about the bush to ask Auntie Paulina about rumors surrounding her sexual orientation.

“So those rumors going round that you are a lesbian which is why you haven’t had man, is it true?”, Delay quizzed.

However, Auntie Paulina felt it was sad hearing those rumors. She replied that: “Oh it’s sad when I hear that”.

Delay then asked her: “Have you heard about those rumors?” and she replied “yes, I have. And I said what is the reason why they would say something like that?”

So Delay suggested to her that maybe people are making those rumors because they don’t see a man with her. But, Auntie Paulina did not agree to Delay’s suggestion and rather asked if it was by force [to have a man around her]. Adding that “why do Ghanaians like to put labels on people?”

And when Delay finally put the question to her- So are you a lesbian? Auntie Paulina responded with the harshest response she could muster: “Stupidness [sic], yes, I said. All those who think that are foolish and idiots”, she said.
