Government Bans ‘Okada’ and ‘Keke’ Rides In Nigeria Effective February 1 – More Details
The Lagos state government has planned to ban the commercial use of Motorbikes and tricycle taxis affectionately called ‘Okada’ in major cities in Nigeria.
The Government echoed the ban has become necessary following the increment of deaths and injuries caused by Okada.
Reports show that the ban will take effect from February 1 and will be enforced on all major highways in cities like, Lagos Island, Apapa, Surulere. Ikeja, Lagos Mainland and Eti Osa.
The Lagos State Government in another development stated that no one was given the license to commercialize motorcycles.
