COVID-19: Government Announces Insurance Package For Frontliners And Suspends Water Bill For All Ghanaians

President Akufo-Addo in his 5th address to Ghana on the matters concerning COVID-19 announced some special insurance and allowances for frontline health workers as well as Ghanaians.

According to the President, an insurance package with an assured sum of ¢350,000 for each health personnel and allied professional at the forefront of the fight, has been put in place, with a daily allowance of ¢150 being paid to contact tracers.

He also said, Government has also decided all health workers will not pay taxes on their emoluments for the next three months, i.e. April, May and June.

Furthermore, all frontline health workers will receive an additional allowance of 50% of their basic salary per month, i.e. for March, April, May and June.

This according to the President of Ghana is to motivate frontline health workers put in their all to help fight against COVID-19.

Not leaving Ghanaians out, President Akyfo-Addo said all Ghanaians will not pay water bill for the next three months i.e April, May and June.

He assured there will be stable supply of Water and electricity during this period and no disconnection of supply.
