Tiger At Bronx Zoo Tests Positive For Coronavirus

According to report from the Bronx in the USA, a four-year-old female Malayan tiger has tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic.

One of the zoo keepers at the Bronx Zoo, asserted that:

“Our cats were infected by a person caring for them who was asymptomatically infected with the virus or before that person developed symptoms,”

The Malayan tiger which is nicknamed Nadia remains the first animal known to be infected with the deadly virus since its outbreak. Zoo keepers have linked the animal’s infection to an asymptomatic individual who infected the animal unknowingly.

The Zoo reports;

“We tested the cat [Nadia] out of an abundance of caution and will ensure any knowledge we gain about Covid-19 will contribute to the world’s continuing understanding of this novel coronavirus,”
