Talented Ghanaian poet, Nana Asaase has expressed discontent in the current state of our music industry.

He claims the once cherished art has been filled with noisemakers parading as musicians and churning out bad tunes they call music.

In a one on one with DJ Hitman on MY Fm, an Eastern Regional based radio station, Nana Asaase said the reason why recent music fades quickly is because the artists refuse to learn.

“Ghana music industry is full of noisemakers. take away the beat and you realize they don’t say anything sensible… it’s because they refuse to learn, they refuse to grow. They feel they know everything but they are jokers.”

When quizzed to distinguish true musicians from the noisemakers, Nana Asaase said, “…take a look at Taego Sister, their music is old but when you play it now, people still love it. unlike these people where they fade in less than 3 months.”

The poet who has been featured many times on CNN disclosed that some musicians who are serious in the business sometimes approach him to review their content before they drop a song.

Nana Asaase told DJ Hitman that he will soon organize a lyrical battle between himself and any A-list artist who believes in his craft to prove there are nothing but noisemakers with no talent in the industry.

“I will one day organize a rap battle, if they beleive in themselves they should come out. Lets rhyme and flow,no repetition of bars.”
