Don’t Be Forced To Donate To Anybody And Suffer In Silence – Edem Advises Celebrities

In this dire times, everyone needs whatever support they can get to survive the deadly virus. Livelihoods are cut short as people are advised to stay home.

Many well to do persons have donated to the less privileged so as to cushion them in these hard times. This act has caused a surge in people begging for alms especially from celebrities.

The act has become worse that some fans result to name calling and ridicule if a celebrity refuses to do giveaways.

Ghanaian musician Edem has advised his colleagues not to fall for the pressures of society to give out their last resource or donate beyond their means.

He stressed that just like the fans, celebrities are also humans with needs and families to cater for so donating at the expense of their needs is wrong.

“If you are a celebrity and you don’t have money right now don’t donate to anybody. You can’t give what you don’t have and suffer in silence whilst you’re hailed publicly”

“If you have 10cedis and you’ll give someone 1cedi and still be alive it’s better because when you die there will be no one to depend on so it’s better you stay alive and carry more people on your shoulder”

He made this assertion in an interview with Amansan Krakye on Radio Central.
