Tanzania Parliament In State Of Fear As Three MPs Die From Coronavirus

The deaths of three Tanzanian parliamentarians from coronavirus has sent panic across the country. The deceased passed away within eleven days and that has sparked opposition calls for parliament suspension.

The chairman of the opposition Chadema Party, Freeman Mbowe has chastised the president for his imperceptive management of the disease. He proceeded to call for the suspension of parliament so that all parliamentarians will be tested with their families.


The east African country has taken the least steps to control the pandemic which now has 480 cases and 16 deaths. This makes it the highest in the sub-regional block. Religious and economic activities have not been suspended making the spread of the disease possible.
