Pastor Who Claimed To Have Cured Coronavirus Patients Dies From The Disease

Fear has gripped several hundred people after a popular Cameroonian pastor-cum-politician succumbed to the coronavirus disease.

Frankline Ndifor, 39, died of the disease within just a week of contracting it. He garnered much attention after his claims of supernatural powers to curb the disease.

The popular preacher who contested the last presidential elections, had claimed on national television to possess powers he can use to heal coronavirus patients.

It is unclear whether he got the disease from a patient while praying for the person. Many of his followers who had close contact with him are now living in fear.

The pastor had been sick for a week buthad refused medical attention. A medical team was only called im when the situation had exacerbated.

He died within minutes of the medical team’s arrival. He has since been buried at his residence in Doula, south-western Cameroon.

Stringent efforts have also been made to track all those who came into contact with the deceased pastor.

A communique has been issued for them to self-isolate so as to stop the disease from spreading.

The central African country has one the highest coronavirus disease control on te continent.

It has confirmed 3529 cases so far. close to half of that number have recovered with the death toll at 140.
