Idris Sultan turned himself in after he was declared wanted by the police. He is expected to be transferred to the police headquarters within the capital city.

This is not his first major encounter with the police. The 2014 BBA winner has been detained several times by the police.

Late last year he was arrested and questioned for several hours at the capital’s main police station over an edited image of President John Magufuli.

In March this year, Idris was yet again arrested on charges of publishing content online without authorisation from the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA).

He was released later on after posting a bond. The TCRA subsequently pulled down his online TV show Loko Motion stating that the show contravened set regulations.
