Zambian Minister Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Zambia’s minister of Information and Broadcasting Services and government spokeswoman, Dora Siliya has tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

The 49-year old minister posted a video on social media to break the news to her compatriots.

She explained that she has been at the forefront of communication right from the start of the pandemic.

She acknowledged observing all the safety protocols like washing her hand and face regularly, masking and maintaining social distance as much as possible.

She had no symptom associated with the disease but decided for a voluntary testing. Unfortunately the result was positive when it was released to her.

She added that she has gone into self-isolation. The minister further disclosed she had given the health ministry all the people she made close contact with.

She has also given all the persons to the medical authorities in relation to all persons she has come into contact with within the last 10 days.

The minister urged the public to continue to observe all the safety measures to keep themselves safe from the pandemic.

Zambia has so far recorded a total of 920 cases. There has been the recovery of 336 people with 7 losing their lives in the southern African country.
