Nigerian Man Gets $10m After He Was Wrongly Jailed For Fifteen Years
A Nigerian man has been released after spending one and a half decades in prison for a crime he never committed.
Tony Ugochkwu was arrested and convicted for 18 years after being found guilty for murder by a court in the US state of Kansas.
A recent forensic examination revealed the convict qas not at the crime scene. This led to his exoneration and subsequent release.
The court also ordered the state to oay the ex-convict a whopping $15m for his wrongful incarceration.
