George Floyd died after his neck was pressed to the ground by policeman, Derek Chauvin

A CNN reporter, Omar Jeminez has been arrested while reporting live from Minneapolis, Minnesota State on the violence that has clouded the city after the murder of unarmed black man, George Floyd.

His other crew members, which included a cameraman and a producer have also been placed in police custody as the police race in to control the violence amid looting and burning of police stations.

George Floyd, an unarmed African-American was arrested by the police in Minneapolis after they were called on allegation of forgery.

He was pinned down to the ground for several minutes with a police officer, Derek Chauvin pressing his knee on his neck.

His plea of difficult breathing was ignored and was only placed on an ambulance bed when he got motionless.

George Floyd died few moments later before he could be rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The incident ignited a wave of protests across the city against police brutality which mostly targeted black people.
