Nigerian Musician, Falz Calls For Nationwide Protests Amid Rising Level Of Insecurity

Versatile Nigerian musician Falz has demanded his fellow citizens to protest nationwide over the recent rape and killings of young Nigerian women amid growing insecurity in the country.

The musician whose real name is Folarin Falana made the clarion call om his Twitter handle in the wake of the brutal rape and murder of Uwa Omozuwa, a first year student of the University of Benin.

AfricaCelebrities.com reported yesterday that the deceased who was pursuing a degree in Microbiology was allegedly raped and murdered by some unknown persons while reading in her church.

The news of her death plunged the whole country into anger with the hashtag #JusticeForUwa being one of the top trending topics on Twitter and other social media platforms.

Adding his voice to the unfortunate incident, Falz lamented the spate of injustice in Nigeria. He called for peaceful nationwide protests which would force the government to bring closure to the issues.

His tweet read:

“It is so exhausting to see injustice continue to thrive time after time. Every time we say NOT AGAIN, and then there is a new story. Enough is enough. It’s too disheartening.

Justice must be served for the innocent souls we keep on losing. #JusticeForTina #JusticeForUwa.”

The rapper called on Nigerians to exhibit fearlessness and move out into the streets, adding that sitting at home and clamoring for justice on social media is not enough.
