Mayweather Promises To Pay All Funeral Expenses Of George Floyd Whose Death In Police Custody Sparked Protests In The U.S.

American legendary boxer, Floyd Mayweather has promised to pay all the funeral expenses associated with the burial of George Floyd.

George Floyd died in the Minneapolis police custody after he was arrested for attempting to purchase an item with a 20 dollar counterfeit bill.


Though he showed no sign of resistance, George Floyd was pinned down in handcuffs and an officer kneeled on his neck leading to his death.

The family plans to hold three services in different locations, including Houston, Texas Floyd’s hometown, Charlotte, North Carolina and Minneapolis, Minnesota where he passed on.

They have accepted the 43-year old boxer’s offer. Mayweather added that Anzel Jennings, CEO of his TMT music label, was a childhood friend of George Floyd in Houston.

George Floyd’s murder by a white police officer sparked an ongoing protests across major cities in the U.S. The protests have spilled over to outside with many holding placards in Britain, France, Denmark and Australia.
