Police Arrest Suspects Linked To Gruesome Rape And Murder Of Uwa

The Edo State Police Command has arrested on of the suspects linked to the rape and murder of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa.

Uwa was reported to have been raped on Friday May 29 at her church Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) near Ikpoba Hill in Benin City, Nigeria.

The crooks, according to reports, smashed her head with a fire extinguisher and left her for dead after they took turn in raping her.

Chidi Nwabuzor, Spokesperson of Edo Police Command, disclosed that a suspect was arrested after examination was done on fingerprints found on the fire extinguisher she was killed with.

“The item used in the assault, which was a fire extinguisher, was recovered, immediately the operatives who were with some specialists screened the finger prints which led to our suspect. Around the place of the incident, the suspect was arrested,” Nwabuzor said.

The Inspector general of Police, IGP Adamu, also assured that the criminals will be brought to book and justice will be served.
