House Of Reps Reject Castration As Punishment For Rapists
The Nigerian House of Representatives has refused the suggestion of castration of guilty rapist to be passed into law.

Reports from The Nation says, the reps voted against petitions seeking every rapist found guilty and proven with evidence to be castrated to curb the rising cases of sexual violence in the country.
Mr James Faleke, a member of the House, raised the petition but it was shot down at a meeting or attended by all participants on Thursday.

Before the petition was voted on, the speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, questioned what would happen to an older female who rapes a younger male.
The majority in the House voted against the petition at the end of the meeting.
