9-Year-Old Boy With Smooth Voice Adopted By Nigerian Governor

Hope Uzidinma, Imo State Governor has revealed intentions to adopt a 9-year-old street hawker who went viral for his amazing vocal skills on some Catholic hymns.

The boy, Joseph Oluomachi Opara, hawks coconut and pear and sometimes to woo his customers, he gives them a full performance so they can patronize his goods.

Joseph’s talent was brought to light yesterday when a video of him singing went viral and the video caught the attention of some wealthy and influential people.

The governor of the state reached out to the family of the boy in Nekede Mechanic Villiage in Owerri through the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, to announce that he has adopted their son as his.

Governor Uzidinma said he will personally take over full responsibility for training him until he becomes a Rev. Father which Joseph said is his ambition.

“His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, was so excited after listening to the video of Master Opara that he directed me to locate you and inform you that from today Joseph is now his child and that since he wants to become a Catholic priest, he will take up the responsibility of training him from his present Primary 4 class until he is ordained a priest.”
