Lady At The Centre Of D’banj Rape Allegation Formally Reports Her Case To The Police
The young woman who accused sensational Nigerian musician D’banj of raping her has revealed that she has made an official report of rape against the musician to the police.
Seyitan Babatayo on June 3 this year accused D’banj of raping her in a hotel room in December 2018 after she attended a party organised by the musician.
She followed the rape accusation with a chronicle of events that sought to tarnish the musician’s image.
The lady accused the music icon whose real name is Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo of sending police to arrest and detain her after which she was forced to recant her allegation.
D’banj in his defence debunked the rape allegation against him and demanded a swift apology from his accuser or risked being slapped with a 100 million naira law suit.
Many Nigerians have come to the defence of the alleged rape victim with some signing an online petition for the United Nations to revoke his peace ambassadorial role.
The police chief in Nigeria, Mohammed Adamu has also ordered a full investigation into the rape allegation against D’banj.
Seyitan Babatayo expressed her appreciation to the Attorney General of Lagos State for ordering the state police to investigate the matter. She also thanked the Inspector General of Police for instructing that the matter be investigated immediately.
