Tottenham Midfielder Receives Four Match Ban And £40,000 Fine For Jumping Into Crowd To Fight A Fan

Eric Dier, Tottenham midfielder has been fined £40,000 and banned for four matches for confronting a fan in the crowd after defeat to Norwich City.

Eric Dier missed a penalty shootout to the Canaries in their fifth-round tie at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in March. The 26-year old left the pitch and entered the stands to attack an angry fan who was teasing him.

Although there was no physical exchange between Dier and the the angry fan, the Football Association has sanctioned the footballer who admitted his action were improper.

FA said in a statement: “Eric Dier has been suspended for four matches with immediate effect, fined £40,000 and warned as to his future conduct following a breach of FA Rule E3.”

Eric will miss Spurs’ upcoming games against Bournemouth, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Leicester, and he will only be available for the club’s last game of the season against Crystal Palace.
