Man U And Chelsea Seal UCL Spots With Final Day Wins

Both Manchester United and Chelsea have booked places in next season’s UEFA Champions League after beating their respective opponents on matchday 38 of the Premier League.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes via a penalty and Lingard earned the red devils a final day win over fellow top four challengers Leicester City and ensured that Man United finished in third place on goal difference ahead of Chelsea.

Chelsea completed a brilliant debut season in the PL for Frank Lampard as a manager in 4th place. After loosing Eden Hazard and with no signings, Lampard’s trust in youth has paid off as they march into the UCL having confirmed their place with a 2-0 victory over Wolves.

A stunning Mason Mount freekick and Giroud’s 6th PL goal since the restart ensured that Stamford Bridge will see Europe football next season.

Leicester missed out and will have to settle for an Europa League berth in 5th.
