Man Hacks Family To Death After His Wife Asked For Divorce

The Nigerian police has arrested a male nurse, Tunde Oyeniran for allegedly murdering his wife and two children with a cutlass last Friday, at their home in Inisa, Osun State.

This was revealed in a statement by the spokesperson of the state police Yemisi Opalola. She said the suspect hacked his wife and children to death and thereafter used the cutlass to inflict cuts on himself in the hand and stomach.

He then raised an alarm for neighbours to cone to his rescue while claiming that his family was attacked by some hoodlums.

The police spokesperson said Oyeniran has been arrested and is currently being treated for the injuries on his body.

Opalola said a preliminary investigation revealed the couple were having marital issues after the deceased woman, Sarah asked for a divorce over years of physical abuse.

The police has begun investigations into the killings and the suspect would be arraigned before a law court immediately he recovers from his wounds.

The corpses of the mother and her two young children have been deposited at a morgue while the weapon has been recovered and will be used as an exhibit in court.
