Kobe Bryant Would Have Been 42 Years Today – Check Out How The World Is Celebrating Him

Today would have been the 42nd birthday of Basketball icon Kobe Bryant but seven months ago, the Black mamba died in a helicopter crash along with his daughter Gigi and 7 others.

His former team, the Los Angeles Lakers will wear their special ‘Black mamba’ uniforms when they meet the Portland Trail Blazers in their NBA playoff series on Monday August 24.

The playoff date miraculously coincides with Kobe’s retired jersey numbers 8 and 24. The Jersey will also include a commemorative heart patch on the right shoulder with Gianna’s No. 2 inside it.

Nike will be marking his birthday by the start of “Mamba Week,” a celebration of his career that will include the company’s first release of his signature sneakers and jersey.
