Zimbabwe Makes It Illegal To Expel Pregnant Students From Schools
The Education Ministry in Zimbabwe has passed a law that makes it illegal for schools in the country to expel pregnant girls.
The decision was reportedly made over fears of a rise in sexual abuse and unwanted pregnancies as schools have been closed since the Coronavirus pandemic struck.

This directive, according to reports, is a means enforced by the state institution to break the barrier of gender inequality in the educational system in the country.
A legal amendment was said to be announced last week to reinforce a 1999 guideline in relation to this act.

Cain Mathema, the education minister in charge of schools, told said to a reporter “I’m expecting every parent and guardian and everyone else to understand that every child must be assisted by all of us to go to school,” “Every child whether boy or girl… has a right to go to school in Zimbabwe,” he added.
