Hip Hop In Nigeria Died The Day Dagrin Died – Rapper, CDQ Says
Nigerian hip hop rapper, CDQ has stated emphatically that the impact of the late hip hop rapper, Dagrin on the Nigerian hip hop community can’t be overemphasized.
He noted that, hip hop in Nigeria Died the day the country lost Dagrin to the cold fingers of death.

He revealed this as a guest speaker on the first episode of Hennessy’s Hip Hop Docu-series, “The Conversation”.
Other hip hop artistes who spoke about the evolution of hip hop in Nigeria include Vector, M.I Abaga and DJ Jimmy Jatt.

In his words, Dagrin’s demise had a huge toll on the development of the hip hop genre of music. He revealed that, hip hop music suffered since the day he died till today, adding that, Dagrin was the only hip hop artiste who stayed true to the genre.
Dagrin died on April 22, 2010 after involving in an accident. Despite dying at a very young age of 22, Dagrin’s style of rap resonated well with most music lovers and that has earned him a spot in the all time best rappers list in Nigeria.
