The Next Generation Will Take Nigerian Music Even Higher – Wizkid

Nigerian music superstar, Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has spoken about the future of nigerian music.

According to the internationally acclaimed singer, the current movers of the music industry, as in, himself, Burna Boy, and Davido are only scratching the surface.

Wizkid was speaking on Arise News to commemorate the 60th Independence anniversary of Nigeria.

He also touched on empowering the youth in ways one can’t imagine. He used himself as an example of someone who has made it, though, he comes from an underprivileged community like Ojualegba.

Wizkid said: “I had this conversation with a friend the other day and i was like ; We can talk about how crazy and bad the country is from A-Z but it’s not going to change anything.

The most amazing thing we can do is really empower the youth, in ways one can’t even understand like me being successful, i came from Ojuelegba, i’ve gone through years of immense hard-work and i am here now.

I would love for the young people in Nigeria to see that nothing is impossible. Me, Burna and David are just scratching the surface, the next generation is going to take it to the next level, so keep believing.”
