Nigerian Boxer, Anthony Joshua Praises #EndSARS Protesters For Their Show Of Patriotism

British boxer of Nigerian descent, Anthony Joshua has taken to twitter to commend the #EndSARS protesters for their show of bravery and patriotism.

The youth of Nigeria led by celebrities have been embarking on street protests to demand the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigerian police force.

The youths accuse the police unit of killings, harassment and extortions. Their demand was necessitated after an unarmed young man was killed by SARS.

Despite the brute force that they met from the police where some protesters even lost their lives in the process, the youth remained defiant.

Their bravery and show of patriotism is what has caught the eyes of many including the boxer. Anthony Joshua took to twitter to commend the protesters.

His tweet reads “Well done to all the Nigerians who have been protesting against SARS – those who made donations to fund organisations lobbying against it – those who have recently been informed & took time to educate themselves. Those with power to make change. Praying for Nigeria.”
